How can you help make navigating your course quick and easy for students?

Navigation: the process of planning and controlling the movement of a learner from one place to another in the online course...

Step 1. Hide unneeded navigation links in the course menu.

Step 2. Add a "Completed this Module. Return Home." message to students at end on last page in the module.

Step 3. Customize a "Table of Contents" Menu for Home Page and teach students to go back to Home Page to find a specific Unit to start browsing content.

Step 4. Teach students to go to Module link to find a specific page, assignment, quiz, or discussion within a Unit.

Step 5. When possible try to embed external web content to open within Canvas on the page instead of opening in separate tabs or windows outside of Canvas.

Step 6. Hyperlinks should describe the destination. Avoid using the url or "click here" as a link.
